Achilles tendonitis

Achilles tendonitis, or Achilles tendinitis, is an overuse injury of the tendon that connects the calf muscles at the back of the lower leg to the heel bone.

This tendon, or band of tissue, is known as the Achilles tendon and is used in walking, running and jumping, among other activities.

Achilles tendonitis is caused by repetitive or intense strain on the Achilles tendon. Achilles tendonitis is common among runners and related athletes.
